Washington has decided to run roughshod over local and state decisions to opt out of ICE’s (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) Secure Communities Program whereby local law enforcement officials are required to act like ICE agents and turn anyone in on suspected immigration charges. Starting soon there will be no opt out and all law enforcement officers will have a new role – de facto ICE agents.
